Cabaran Gunung Datuk 2010

When : 10th April 2010
Time : 9.30am
Location : Hutan Lipur Gunung Datuk
Distance : To Gunung Datuk Summit 870 meters with 5 check points and return. (Men & Women Open). Others catogories to check points no 3 and return.

Eddy Choo, Woo and me met at the Mcdoald Restaurant at Jalan Sungai Besi at 6.30am. It was raining heavily at most part of highway. We were worried that the race may cancell or delay. Luckily the rain stop after the exit at pedas linggi exit. Without any problem we reached Gunung Datuk base camp around 8.00am with the help of our google map. Registered on the spot and met many running kaki from KL as usual.


The race flag off at around 9.30am. Weather condition was good. It started on tar roads about 500 meters down hill all the way and turn left into the jungle road. The jungle trail is not very obvious. After running for about 4 mintes i lost my way. I spent about a minute to find back the right way to continue my run. Not long after 2 minutes the hill climb started. The hill climb was very steep and slippery. After climbing hill for about 10 mintes i finally reached the checking point 3 to collect the ribbon and started to turn back with the difference route. The descent was even more steep ~ 70-80 degrees. The terrain was very rocky. I was overtook by 3 runners at the descent and managed to overtook 1 back at the last 100 meter. I crossed the finish line with the time of 34minutes 56 seconds and 7th position, not a good time and position but was very enjoy with the race.

Vegetarian Diet Is Healthier

This is my usual breakfast from Monday to Friday. I have changed my eating habits since 1st of April 2009. I ate at lease 8-10 portions of fruits and vegetables everyday. Formerly I was a meat lover but now I seldom eat meat. I felt much healthier and have not got any sickness since then. Now a 98% vegetarian which I am enjoy very much and have never felt better before in my life.

I eat well balanced meals and exercise at least 5 days a week. And I’m so much happier! Here my eating philosophy:
1) Eat lots of fruits and vegetables! (Prefer raw, uncooked and organic)
2) Stay away from processed foods! (like burgers and sausages)
3) Eat a protein, carb, and fat at every meal!
4) Drink lots of water
5) Avoid white sugar, white rice, white salt and white bread. Replace with Organic brown sugar, brown rice, sea salt and Whole meal bread.
6) Avoid meat except fish, Obtain protein from raw almond, raw pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, Soya beans milk and Amway protein.
