Kuala Lumpur City Day Run 2010
21st February 2010
Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur
Distance : 7.56km

The race started promptly with gunned off by Datuk M.Saravanan,the deputy minister of Federal Territories at 7.30am, as usual, all the fast legs were in the front pack. My plan was to follow my nearest rival Suwoto, but it seen that he pushed very hard in the early state. The gap between us was getting further and further. It was more than 100meters behind him at the half way mark. I thought of given out hope of chasing him but to maintain my position. Anyway I managed to close the gap to 50meter at the last hill before reaching the lake Garden traffic light, the gap getting closer to only 15 meters at the traffic light. He kept looking back to watch me and I kept pushing harder trying to overtake him. We were running site by site after the down hill for about 100meters. I managed to overtake him after the bank Negara roundabout and pushed all the way to the finishing line without looking back. My position was 4th in my category. I was very happy with my timing and position but was shock to know that the prizes for winners were the lousiest I have ever seen in my life. I heard some shoes given to winners was worth only RM20 and some of the shoes were wrong size (1 size 9 and 1 size 7).

Prizes for the winners are as follows:-
1st position – 1 cheap power shoes and a bag.
2nd position – 1 cheap power shoes and a bag of cereal.
3rd positon – 1 cheap power shoes and an umbrella.
4th and 5th position – 1 shoe bag only.

Conditions of Competition

● Competition is open to all citizens and non-citizens.

● Participation should use boring participation provided

● Participants must attend the final briefing before

● Participants must be healthy body

● Participation in accordance with the age limit set

● Participants must use the appropriate clothing (slippers, sandals etc.. Not allowed)

● Participants will be release in accordance with the participation

● Venues are as determined by the organizers

● All matters pertaining to transportation expenses, accommodation and food are not available throughout the competition

● Participants are prohibited environmental damage before, during and after competition

● Participants must compete according to the age limit stipulated age on the day of competition

● Participants youth category must obtain permission from parents / guardians

● Organizer reserves the right to refuse participation of participants who register late

● decision is final competition

● Any objection must be accompanied by results of RM100 with objection letter within 1 hour after the competition

● personal accident insurance coverage is dependent participants below.




Competition Law

● Participants must present themselves at the secretariat to confirm your registration before the competition begins

● Participants must attend the final briefing before the competition started

● Participants must wear numbers that will be passed to beep on competition

● Participants will be release in accordance with the participation of each category

● Participants must be made available according to route and arrive at every check point set

● Participants may not change the password provided by the organizers

● Participants are prohibited to sabotage the other players.

● The winner will be determined based on the earliest participants arrived at the finish line

● Organizer reserves the right from time to time change the competition law without written notice.

● Participants who violate rules will be canceled participation.




Points System

● Winner of each circuit will be given points for each position according to the competition

● Total points will be collected until all 3 circuit completed

● Total points accumulated the highest eligible prize overall in the final circuit

● Total points for each circuit are as follows;


First place 10 points

Second Place 8 points

Third Place 6 points

Fourth Place 4 points

Fifth Place 2 points

Sixth place 1 point

Seventh Place 1 point

Eighth Place 1 point

Ninth Place 1 point

Tenth place 1 point

Putrajaya Night Marathon 2010 - 21km

I have not done any long run since 2nd August 2009 (SHAH ALAM adidas King of the Road 2009). My longest run was done on 24th Jan 2010 and it was only 15km slow run. Second longest run was Malakoff 12km. I though of using taking part in Pacesetters 30km run as a training for this event but i was away to China Yiwu. Further more my training was interrupted by the visit to China as the mainland was too cold to run. Daily highest temperture was 1°c and most of the time was below 1°c, only managed to run one time at the trackmill for the whole 5 days. To run a competitive half marathon without any long run is not an easy task.
I dared not do any warmup run before run because mileage is not enough. I took the 1st km as warmup and ran conservatively for the rest of the distance. I was feeling fine for the first 13km. After the 14km mark I received message from my leg that if i run faster it will pull my muscle. Feeling the message, i try to slow down my pace abit. Runners from behind passing me one after another, Yasan, Shilahudin and even Daniel Tan. I just have to control my pace in order not to cramp my leg muscle. At last i am pleased to complete the whole 21km without any muscle cramp. The muscle cramp immediately after the run. I am very lucky to get 9th posititon with Rm300.00 cash for the Senior Vet cat. My position will be 26th if I am in Junior vet cat. I was smiling all the way home with cash reward. Here is the Summary of my split time for 21km
